CfD Stakeholder Bulletin — 11 January 2023

DESNZ·notice·low·11 Jan 2023·source document

Summary

DESNZ published the Exemptions Request Notice for CfD Allocation Round 5, setting procedures for generators to request exemption from temporary site exclusions. The round opens in March 2023, with exemption requests required by a specified deadline to remain eligible. Sites currently excluded are listed on the LCCC website.

Why it matters

This is routine administration of an existing queue-based allocation system rather than reform. The exemption process maintains the binary nature of CfD eligibility — generators are either in or out of each round based on administrative decisions rather than price discovery.

Key facts

  • CfD Allocation Round 5 opens March 2023
