CfD Stakeholder Bulletin — 25 July 2024

DESNZ·notice·low·25 Jul 2024·source document

Summary

Ofgem has completed the appeals process for CfD Allocation Round 6, notifying applicants of final outcomes on their eligibility challenges. Projects that remained non-qualifying after National Grid ESO's initial review could appeal to Ofgem. The process now moves to scenario 5 in the AR6 timeline.

Why it matters

This closes the final avenue for excluded projects to enter AR6, crystallising which generation will compete in the auction. The appeals process serves as a safety valve but does not address the underlying eligibility criteria that create the exclusions.
