CfD Stakeholder Bulletin — 7 March 2024

DESNZ·notice·low·7 Mar 2024·source document

Summary

DESNZ extends the consultation response deadline for Allocation Round 7 CfD amendments from 7 March to 11 March 2024. The extension follows the earlier-than-usual publication of AR6 statutory notices, which affected internal sign-off procedures for consultation responses. The consultation content remains unchanged.

Why it matters

Minor administrative adjustment that maintains separation between AR6 delivery and AR7 policy development. The four-day extension suggests industry timing constraints matter more than policy urgency for incremental CfD reforms.

Key facts

  • Deadline extended to 11:59pm Monday 11 March 2024
  • AR6 statutory notices published earlier than previous years
  • Four-day extension granted

Memo

Contracts for Difference: Stakeholder Bulletin 07.03.2024 Proposed amendments to Contracts for Difference for Allocation Round 7 and future rounds consultation response deadline extension. Yesterday, we published the Contracts for Difference Allocation Round 6 (AR6) statutory notices. We are aware that this was earlier in the month than for previous years, and internal sign off procedures for responses to the consultation may be affected by senior managers having to engage with these AR6 documents earlier than anticipated. As a result, we are granting an extension to the deadline for responses to the Proposed amendments to Contracts for Difference for Allocation Round 7 and future rounds consultation to 11:59pm on Monday, 11th March. Please note, the content of consultation responses should remain specific to the material in the consultation document, rather than reflecting views on the AR6 statutory notices. We encourage respondents to respond online.
