CfD Stakeholder Bulletin — 26 January 2023
Summary
National Grid ESO opens registration for CfD Allocation Round 5, allowing renewable generators to register for the competitive auction process. The registration window provides access to guidance and support materials through the EMR Delivery Body Portal. This is a routine administrative step preceding the main AR5 allocation process.
Why it matters
Routine procedural step that maintains the CfD pipeline for new renewable capacity. Registration itself creates no new costs or changes to market structure — the substantive decisions come later in the allocation round when strike prices are set and projects compete for contracts.
