DESNZ·notice·medium·29 Nov 2021·source document

Summary

DESNZ confirms £285 million budget for CfD Allocation Round 4, launching 13 December 2021. The department published final statutory notices, allocation framework, contract documents and consultation responses. The round allocates long-term revenue support contracts for renewable generation projects.

Why it matters

The budget allocation caps total subsidy commitment for this round, determining how many projects can secure 15-year revenue guarantees. As such, this sets the pace of renewable deployment — projects that miss this round face delays until AR5 with no guaranteed timeline.
